Eye Movement Desensitising and Reprocessing (EMDR)

This type of Therapy was developed in the 1980's in America  by Dr Francine Shapiro.  It was created by accident  and began primarily for use with persons suffering with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder  but it has been proven to be is very effective form of therapy for other mind altering  problems , such as Anxiety depression  and certain disorders.  The great thing about EMDR as it is a fast healing technique  by    accelerating    the way in which we would  naturally heal by using Rapid Eye Movement. It is very effective   and issues like anxiety can be diminished     after 2-3 sessions.  Bearing in mind that everybody responds differently  to this   form of therapy. Please do not confuse this with hypnosis, I    also use  the method  DeTUR   for addictions which is very effective too.

How do I perform it?

I would need a history of your  issue and would then know where to focus our target .  So you'll need 1 or    2 sessions of normal talk therapy first. 

I would  be using bilateral  stimulation  with my hands  for your eyes to follow whilst focusing on the issue.  The process is a lot faster to gain results than  counselling and psychotherapy  although  I would stress there are  certain problems  that  also need talk therapy. So it intertwines beautifully  with the  kind of therapy I practice.  

I  must stress  that a good Counsellor / Client relationship  is key  to any therapy  succeeding.
